The US EverQuest 2 Servers will come down on Thursday, November 21st at 7:00AM Pacific Time for an update. The expected downtime is approximately one hour. As a bonus suprise, Tony"RadarX"Jones, EQII Community Manager, posted that Gold Members will get a token reward boost."Starting with tomorrow's update and until February 25th, 2014 all Gold Members will earn twice as many token rewards when completing quests or actions that would grant an alternate currency token!" You'll find the patch notes below. MEMBERSHIP Now until Feb. 25th, Gold members earn DOUBLE on all alternate currencies! POPULATION / ZONE PROGRESSION Vesspyr Isles Delvakin in Falinpol now sells an item that can be used to turn fully upgraded Cryptic, Arcane, or Potent armor into an upgrade gemstone. All US servers will come down on Tuesday, November 19th at 7:00AM Pacific for an update. The expected downtime is approximately one hour. Full patch notes are available after the jump. POPULATION / ZONE PROGRESSION General Challenge Duo zones will now drop purple adornments instead of red adornments. City Sages are now willing to put a price to A Thexian Log Book, Clockwork Chirurgeon User Manual, and Day Log of R.F. for those that completed the accompanying quest. Cobalt Scar Cobalt Scar tradeskill harvestables no longer spawn under the world. Fabled Djinn Master's Prism Instraments should no longer lose their"move"or"inspect"verbs when the encounter resets. Instraments will no longer reset once a valid song has been played but they will still reset once the Djinn Master's threshold has been passed. The Heroes'Festival is Back! [EverQuest II]

The Heroes'Festival , an annual live event first introduced in 2009, has made its return! The event is scheduled to run from 12:01am PST on Friday, November 15 through 11:59pm PST on Monday, November 25. Freeport and Qeynos will be filled with festivities to celebrate the 9th anniversary of EverQuest II . Centered primarily at the Claymore in Qeynos Capitol District and Execution Plaza in the City of Freeport, players can participate in several event quests . New this year is the Heroes'Feast quest, in which you craft up a great feast for your respective city . All quests from last year will also make a return with alternate currency token reward choices, which can be spent for new items (mostly decorations) on the Heroes'Festival merchant . One new achievement will be awarded to players who work their way through all of the quests. The Heroes'Festival is scheduled to run until 11:59pm PST on November 25th. To celebrate the launch of the Tears of Veeshan expansion and EverQuest II's 9th birthday (which occurred on November 8), ProSiebenSat.1 Games is hosting a"Bake a Drake"contest! Provisioners, pull out your rolling pins and get baking, because there are some hot prizes to be earned from this one! We got full details after the jump. Editor's Note: I realize that both SOE and PSS1 players visit EQ2 ZAM, but all of the in-game rewards for this contest are for ProSiebenSat.1 Games account holders only . The DVD rewards can awarded to anyone. Now, back to the contest! Just like in the latest expansion, this competition is all about the winged creatures. PSS1 is looking for the most creative cakes to fit their motto of"Bake a Drake". So go bake yourself a dragon! The contest already kicked off and runs through November 30, 2013. Here's the patch notes: MERCENARIES When opening the mercenary window, the active mercenary will now be auto-selected so the button defaults to‘Return’ for suspended mercenaries. Daeron Ashenwing has been made more formidable. POPULATION / ZONE PROGRESSION Vesspyr Isles You can now accept both Heroic and Advanced Solo weekly missions from Veehzz the Bloodwing in Vesspyr Isles. ABILITIES / ALTERNATE ADVANCEMENT General AE Auto-Attack Chance buffs should no longer flicker in the passives window.

From the official forum : All servers will come down November 12th, 2013 at 7:00 AM PT (4 PM CET) for an update to introduce the Tears of Veeshan expansion. Downtime is anticipated to be less than 5 hours and you can find update notes when posted in the Game Update forum. We'll keep you updated as we hear more tomorrow morning!

UPDATE 2:50pm ET : US servers are now up! UPDATE 1:20pm ET : Latest word is that "There are still a few last minute things being tested but I've been assured things look good and should be available within the estimated time frame." ( forums ) UPDATE 11am ET : Pre-orders have begun processing, we just got an email confirming ours! All servers came down at 7am PT today for the Tears of Veeshan (GU68) patch.
