With the announcement that Storybricks will be joining SOE in breathing life into EverQuest Next , time has come for the prognostication to recommence. We expect that we will have some more concrete information revealed at SOE Live this year, but there are some snippets that are certainly making me a little rabid with anticipation. The involvement of the Storybricks team itself is exciting, in that it reveals SOE is looking to add levels of player interaction with the world that will have some interesting AI and choices under the hood. This evening, Thursday, April 25, 2013, SOE will be broadcasting the EQII: Scars of the Awakened and the SOE Live 2013 webcasts back-to-back live on Twitch TV . The EQII webcast at 4pm Pacific will go over some final details regarding Game Update 66 and delve into what the team is working on next. The SOE Live webcast at 4:30pm PDT will have details regarding registration ( which opened up earlier today ), tournament, panesl, in-game items, and more. Join SOE on Thursday, April 25, 2013, at 4:00pm PDT (7:00pm EDT) and 4:30pm PDT (7:30pm EDT) , as they live stream these webcasts on Twitch TV ! The webcasts are expected to last about 20 minutes each.

EverQuest II's lastest game update, Scars of the Awakened , is right around the corner with new content for Norrathian crafters! Be sure to take your artisan to Cobalt Scar where Acting Supplymaster Grant could use a hand. Along the way you'll help the Othmir, save the day at the main camp, and help a mysterious dark elf. Your reward is a nifty set of gloves handed down the Bayle line. Check out our Cobalt Scar Crafting Series guide and the shopping list so you're not shy on resources. Level 95 crafters will find that their Apprentices have some new ideas and need new equipment to get the job done. The new researched recipes will use Tier 10 resources and are set up so that while they require more reactants, those reactants aren't as hard to come by as they are in the level 80 recipes. Game Update 66 , Scars of the Awakened , launches on Tuesday, April 30, 2013. In this update players visit the vastly changed Velious land of Cobalt Scar and its dungeon, Siren's Grotto . Adventurers over level 90 can speak to Joren Kalth in any major city or on the Thurgadin docks in the Great Divide to be sent on their way to Cobalt Scar. Players once again work with Osh, who is trying to save his brethern from a corruption that has twisted their native land. After the othmir problem is addressed, the famed Field Marshal Vishra sends word, and the work to assist the New Combine with their various minor issues begins. Cobalt Scar offers players 45 new quests, four daily missions, and one weekly group mission . Missions will send players who have completed most of the Cobalt Scar quests into Siren's Grotto, but access to Siren's Grotto itself has no requirements. Sony Online Entertainment will perform maintenance beginning at 7:00 AM Pacific on April 30, 2013. This maintenance is expected to take approximately 1 hour. This will impact the following services: Account management will be unavailable. Commerce transactions, including purchases on SOE websites and in-game marketplaces will be unavailable. Login for all SOE forums will be affected. Players who are already logged in may be disconnected and unable to log back in starting at 7:00 AM to approximately 8:00 AM PDT. Login for all SOE games may be affected during the maintenance. Login for Free Realms and Clone Wars Adventures will be unavailable.

The City Festival Starts Tonight! [EverQuest II]

Tomorrow is the beginning of May, bringing us the Freeport City Festival ! The festival is planned to start on May 1st at 12:01am PDT and run until May 7th at 11:59pm PST. You can find the Far Seas Caravan in the Commonlands between the Crossroads and the Freeport Griffon Tower. Sanya Farshore, the General Goods merchant, is proud to continue featuring Bags of Teleportation Pads in her inventory. They cost 20 City Tokens, with each bag holding two Teleportation Pads . Visit the Far Seas caravan merchants to see all of the local specialities and other festival goods . An Aether Race will also be available in Commonlands during the festival. Participate and achieve a time of 119 seconds or less to earn the Portal Jumper prefix title! Begin the race by speaking to the referee near the docks.
