EverQuest&EverQuest II Expansion Teasers [General News]

Executive Producer Holly Longdale popped onto both the EverQuest and EverQuest II forums yesterday to post a teaser announcement of the upcoming official announcement for both game's expansions. EQ players will be getting 15 new raid zones, new and updated zones for level 105, and two new level agnostic zones: the original versions of Plane of Fear and Plane of Hate. Expect new AAs, spells, Heroic Adventures and more. EQ2 players will receive a new overlands zone, x2 and x4 raids, as well as Advanced Solo and Heroic dungeons. The deity system revamp is coming and a couple of new item types will be introduced. Neither game teaser mentioned any level cap increases. Here are the patch notes for Tuesday, September 8, 2015: GENERAL Added guild leader voting commands for leaderless guilds: If you are a guild Officer, you may now use the command /initiate_guild_leader_vote to initiate the guild leader voting process if your guild does not currently have an active guild leader (no leader has not logged in within 60 days). Anytime during the voting process, if a leader logs in they can cancel the voting process using the command /cancel_guild_leader_vote. POPULATION / ZONE PROGRESSION SilentCity : Delving Dead The door should once again allow entrance on non-TLE servers. Precipice of Power [Raid] Corrected issues that caused some cruxes to be taken without spawning the avatar. A new Avatar will begin to make an appearance within the Precipice of Power! Brell Serilis will now spawn as a normal contested encounter! He will not require cruxes and will have a respawn timer once killed.

How do I get into doing that?!"There is no perfect answer to this query, and despite how awesome working in this industry sounds and really is, it's hard work and not quite as glamorous as you may be envisioning in your head. Working on a gaming fan/press site requires a lot of dedication outside of game(s). We don't actually spend most of our day playing these games for hours on end (unless we're working on a review). Often, we find that there's only a handful of time to spend in-game while dedicating the majority of our workday to emails, writing breaking news about games we may or may not actually play, writing guides, participating in social media, and so on. The City Festival Starts Tonight! [EverQuest II]

October is on the horizon and with it the Qeynos City Festival returns to Norrath! The festival begins on October 1st at 12:01am PT and runs until October 7th at 11:59pm PT. It can be found near the bridge to North Qeynos in Antonica. Visit the Far Seas caravan merchants to see all of the local specialities and other festival goods . An Aether Race will also be available in Antonica during the festival. Participate and achieve a time of 134 seconds or less to earn the Bridge Buzzer prefix title! Begin the race by speaking to the referee near the Coldwind Point Lighthouse.

Downtime - Tuesday, September 29, 2015 [EverQuest II]

US servers will be brought offline on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at 7am PT for an update. Expected downtime is two hours. EU servers will come down at 9pm PT (5am London Time on September 30th) for their update. Estimated downtime is one hour. Here are the patch notes: POPULATION / ZONE PROGRESSION Precipice of Power [Raid] Daerial's Underfoot Portal will now be passed on to a new player once the previous one is rendered inert instead of despawning. Cazic-Thule's Touch of Fear spell has had its range lowered to his island only. QUESTS An Eye for Power - Frosthorn minotaurs have returned to the Jagged Plains in Everfrost, despite the Sundered Ground nearby. DRUNDER Server no longer requires a Membership.
