Downtime - Thursday, February 13, 2014 [EverQuest II]

The US servers will come down on February 13th at 7:00 AM Pacific Time for an update. The expected downtime is approximately one hour. EU servers will come down beginning at 9:00 PM PT (6:00 AM CET February 14th) for the same update. Downtime is anticipated to be approximately 2 hours. Here are the patch notes: POPULATION / ZONE PROGRESSION Fabled Laboratory of Lord Vyemm Fanning the Flames should no longer hit quite as hard when hitting 24 players. PVP PvP charms can once again be used within PvP zones.

Sony Online Entertainment has announced that they will perform maintenance beginning at 3:00 AM Pacific on February 18, 2014. This will impact the following services: Account management, which includes logging into our websites, submitting, updating, or viewing Support Tickets. Commerce transactions, including purchases on SOE websites and in-game marketplaces. SOE Forums will remain open during the downtime however you may lose permissions and experience occasional disconnects. Login for SOE games MAY be affected. While no downtime estimate is mentioned in the forum posts , the Facebook preview of the announcement originally showed a four hour downtime.

GENERAL New Achievements available for dedicated collection hunters! Health Percentage will now show with the Detailed (Arrows) version of the target window if you have the option turned on. Players'preferred auto attack mode will now be restored after their possession of a target has concluded. ABILITIES / ALTERNATE ADVANCEMENT Channeler Blue and Green Construct Color spells can be purchased from channeler trainers. LIVE EVENTS Erollisi Day Douglas now offers the Rose Gold Cordon if you have completed the achievement: Enamored of Erollisi. The City Festival Starts Tonight! [EverQuest II]

Tomorrow is February, which means it's time for the Kelethin City Festival ! The festival is planned to start on February 1st at 12:01am PT and will run until February 7th at 11:59pm PT. You can find the Far Seas Caravan in Greater Faydark on the Green Knoll , just down the ramp from landing platform for the World Bell. Sanya Farshore , the General Goods merchant, now features an ameythst stained glass oval , which costs 5 City Tokens. The fireworks launchers from the old Summer Fireworks Festival will begin appearing on the Local Specialty merchant as well! Visit the Far Seas caravan merchants to see all of the local specialities and other festival goods , and don't forget to check out the four City Festival achievements (listed under Live Events in your journal). Yesterday afternoon we learned that ZAM’s longtime copy editor, Judy"Looker"Freeman , passed away from lung cancer. Judy had been with ZAM since October 16, 2007. From the start, Judy worked to clean up the scribbling of our various writers, journalists, and editors. Many of us were fortunate to work with Judy, relying on her expertise to hold us up and shine the brightest light on our creative work. She never wanted to be in the spotlight, but quietly mentored a surprising number of people on the front lines of ZAM News. Chances are, if you ever read an article on ZAM, you've read something she touched. She will be dearly missed by many here at ZAM, and many that have moved on.

We’ve decided to release regular improvements every week, then every month we’ll push something cool to you. Beyond that, we’re focusing the rest of our efforts into making great expansions! Here’s a bit more detail: What sorts of things will come out weekly? These will be things like straight-up feature refinements, holiday events, short adventures, or pretty much anything that doesn’t merit being in the expansion or being a big monthly highlight. In celebration of the Goddess of Love and the Hunt, the Sisterhood of Erollisi, along with Aaronolis Swornlove, will be seeking assistance in New Halas throughout Erollisi Day . Dalron Pinot and his cheesy love lines makes a return while Diana Heartstrings and David Torchsong are hopeful that some adventurers will help them play matchmaker. The Hearts a'Flutter contests in Antonica and the Commonlands have had a new grand prize added. A new achievement , Enamored of Erollisi, has been added this year. Craft, quest, and romance to complete it! Creatures around Norrath will be dropping hard candies and love notes again, which can be used in crafting, consolidated into a single type, or exchanged for event currency. GENERAL The Target Window now has an optional Health Percentage numerical display that can be toggled in Options> User Interface> Name and Chat Bubble> Show Health Percentage of Target. The bonuses granted to Spell Doublecast and Flurry chance obtained by exceeding the Ability Casting Speed and Attack Speed caps will now be displayed in the tooltips for the relevant stats in the character sheet window. Sony Online Entertainment is now accepting applications for the 2014 G.I.R.L. scholarship ! Check out the full press release after the jump. Sony Online Entertainment LLC (SOE) is now accepting applications and submissions for its 2014 Gamers In Real Life (G.I.R.L.) Game Design Competition. Through the G.I.R.L. scholarship program, SOE will award one winner with a $10,000 scholarship to be applied towards tuition, room and board, and other educational expenses at the winner's college or university. In addition to the cash prize, the winner will also be given the opportunity to be hired as a paid intern for up to 10 weeks at SOE's headquarters in San Diego for hands-on experience working on award-winning franchises, including PlanetSide® and EverQuest®.
