All servers will be brought offline on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at 7:00 AM PDT. The servers are estimated to be unavailable for approximately one hour. This update includes the performance updates discussed on the official forums . Patch notes are available after the jump. PERFORMANCE UPDATES We don’t want to get into too much detail, but overall we updated some very old libraries to bring EQII up to date. We also updated memory management, fixed some memory leaks as a result, and made some other code changes that look to be improving server performance. Here’re a few notes to give you a bit more detail: Improved client performance on maximum settings. Additionally, altered the“Extreme Quality” defaults to look and run better on higher end machines. This means that non-raiders who do quests, decorate houses, heroic dungeons (without oceans of proc gear), are going to notice considerable improvement. We have made several improvements to spa ...

On October 25th, the team at Sony Online Entertainment is joining forces with thousands of gamers across the globe to help raise funds for Extra-Life 's annual 24-hour gaming marathon. With the help of the gaming community, SOE's goal is to raise $50,000 for the Children's Miracle Network charity. Qeynos City Festival: October 1 - 7 [EverQuest II]

October has arrived and with it the Qeynos City Festival returns to Norrath! The festival will run through October 7th at 11:59pm PDT. It can be found near the bridge to North Qeynos in Antonica. Visit the Far Seas caravan merchants to see all of the local specialities and other festival goods . An Aether Race will also be available in Antonica during the festival. Participate and achieve a time of 134 seconds or less to earn the Bridge Buzzer prefix title! Begin the race by speaking to the referee near the Coldwind Point Lighthouse.

All US servers came down on September 9th, 2014 at 7:00 AM Pacific Time for a hotfix. EU servers will come down beginning at 9:00 PM PT (6:00 AM CET September 10th, 2014) for the same update. Downtime is anticipated to be approximately one hour. WEEKLY FEATURE Balance of Theer battleground! A 6v6 deathmatch zone that is set on Roehn Theer’s platform. GENERAL Options to invite a guild member to a party, a raid, or gossip with them via tells about that healer that keeps forgetting to cure detrimentals are now available via the context menu in the Members list of the Guild window. Resolved an issue where certain wards did not properly display the amount of damage warded in the effects list of their description tooltips and examine windows. Our departing CM, Margaret"Luperza"Krohn , announced the change on the forums last night: We've had a short but sweet journey together. Although I've been a player in this community for a long time, it’s been wonderful being your Community Manager for the last few months. I am proud of the contributions we have made together in this community, and remain inspired by the passion you all bring to the game with your feedback.
