EverQuest Next Landmark: Founder's Packs [EverQuest Next]
from ZAM News (full)
|
In an effort to start monetizing EverQuest Next Landmark , Sony Online Entertainment has unveiled the Founder’s Packs . These $20, $60 and $100 bundles enable players to join in on testing the game and provide a wide assortment of rewards. Senior Producer Terry Michaels goes into detail about the Settler, Explorer and Trailblazer tiers you can buy: Given it will be free-to-play, they obviously need to find sources for their revenue stream– but is this much of a fan-friendly approach? It's not exactly made clear how long certain perks will last and paying for the privilege of testing is often a contentious concept. Also, will the perks influence game balance? Perhaps eventually we'll find out first-hand. For a few more bits of info on EQNext Landmark , check out one of these half - dozen previews . Colt" ShdwFlm "Casey Deputy Editor

from ZAM News (full)
|
Tears of Veeshan is not the only thing launching on Tuesday, November 12. Game Update 68 is happening at the same time, which will add two new features: Tier 4 Guild Halls and Mercenary Slots. In the final part of our interview with the EverQuest II team we spoke to them about these features, tried to discern some information on the future and briefly discussed Player Studio. Tier 4 guild halls will be a mark of accomplishment: they require not only guild level 95, but also come with a hefty price tag of 1,000 platinum to purchase and 10 platinum, 400,000 status base upkeep per week. Like their Tier 3 counterparts, these halls“are available from the same bell at the docks in Commonlands and Antonica.” This means that there also won’t be much diversity in the layouts.“Tier 4 guild halls have extra space added,” the team told us.“There will be a Qeynos and a Freeport version.” We recently explored one of the Tier 4 halls on Be ...

Tears of Veeshan is quickly approaching, with less than one week remaining to pre-order EverQuest II's 10th expansion pack. As the launch date of Tuesday, November 12 looms, we took some time to speak with the EQII team about Tears of Veeshan and beyond. So many features and so much content will be included in both Tears of Veeshan and Game Update 68 (launching concurrently) that we wondered if everything discussed during this summer’s SOE Live would still be included or shifted to future updates."Everything is still included in the expansion,"the team replied."We came up with a few ideas that will be implemented next year that build on the content of ToV . And Dungeon Finder updates may come a bit later than the expansion because we want to make sure we do it right." One of the highlights of the expansion is the introduction of EverQuest II’s 26th player class, the Channeler . The ability to play the class"requires the expansion."When asked how the team ...
