The New Halas City Festival Has Begun! [EverQuest II]

June has arrived and with it the New Halas City Festival has returned to Norrath! The festival will run until June 7th at 11:59pm PDT. The Far Seas Caravan can be found near the Cairn of the Huntress. The festival features nine new building blocks on the specialty merchant. They cost two City Tokens each and come in a wide variety. Visit the Far Seas caravan merchants to see all of the local specialities and other festival goods . An Aether Race will also be available in Frostfang Sea during the festival. Participate and achieve a time of 104 seconds or less to earn the Snowflake Chaser prefix title! Begin the race by speaking to the referee near the docks.

The awesome folks at SOE are bringing the"role"back into"roleplaying"with an exciting new feature that will debut in EverQuest II. SOEmote uses a webcam and and voice features to let the game track your movement and facial expressions and replicate them on your avatar in real-time. All U.S. servers will be coming down at 7am PDT for an update. Here are the patch notes: GENERAL Fixed a bug where some characters were unable to use free respecs on the prestige tree. DUNGEON MAKER Fixed a bug where some dungeons would be listed in the incorrect category. Dungeons that are already published should automatically get changed to the proper category without having to republish them. QUESTS The Fallen Swords: Endgame: Rewards have been upgraded. Withered Lands For the quest"A Helping Hand", if the correct creatures are hunted / killed but the scouts do not help, you should now get a different message than if the scouts were to help in hunting the target.

Today on the Station Blog SOE announced that they are relaunching their Facebook giveaways. Every Monday check out the new Sweepstakes tab on the SOE Facebook page. Prizes will vary, from game-themed swag to partner giveaways (like Sony and Logitech) and even SOE Live passes. They're kicking it off with ten passes to E3 , the industry-only convention in Los Angeles June 5-7, 2012. As I type this the SOE Sweepstakes tab says there is one day and 13 hours left in the promotion, so hurry and sign up (you'll have to approve an ap to do so)! All U.S. servers will be coming down at 7am PDT for an update. Here is the patch note: COMBAT Players can now select their preferred method of autoattacking using the /setautoattackmode command (0 for default, 1 for melee, 2 for spell/ranged) or by the drop-down setting in the Character UI options under‘Auto Attack Mode’.
