Hotfix - March 24, 2011 [EverQuest II]

All U.S. servers will come down for a hotfix at 7am PDT on Thursday, March 24, 2011. The expected downtime is one hour. The U.K. servers will have their hotfix at 5am London Time on Friday, March 25, 2011. Estimated downtime is 2 hours. The full patch notes are available after the hop. GENERAL Fixed a client crash issue. Fixed a bug where some auction channel messages would not be passed through the spam filter. Fixed a bug that allowed NO-TRADE currencies to be put into the shared bank. Fixed a bug with linking items in chat. ZONE PROGRESSION / POPULATION Fixed zone crashes associated with some RAID NPC curses. Tower of Frozen Shadow: Shadowed Corridors The Armored Presence should respawn more reliably when his encounter is broken. Alvik the Cold will now warn players slightly before he begins to heal himself. EverQuest II takes part in the celebration of 12 years of EverQuest with the Chronoportals live event. Ancient portals take players back in time to battle creatures of a distant past. Several of these encounters have memorable dialogues that any former EverQuest player can appreciate. Whether you're looking for the chronoportal that Quillmane dwells within or need some help defeating the Nagafen's Lair encounter, our Chronoportals guide has it all. The event will run until 10am PDT on March 30, 2011.

Donate to the Japan Relief Effort! [EverQuest II]

On March 11, 2011 a devastating earthquake, followed by a tsunami, hit Japan. The country is in desparate need of help and EverQuest II is encouraging players to do their part. Earlier today a new section was introduced to the Marketplace dedicated to the Japan relief effort. A single item called Memory of Spring is listed in it, costing 500 Station Cash, with a description explaining that funds from its sale will be donated to the cause. To purchase this item, go into the Marketplace in game (by using the /marketplace command or the EQII game menu) and choose the"Japan Relief Effort"category. The item is not lore so you can purchase multiples if you are so inclined. It is currently unknown how long the donation section will be available for--we'll update you as more details are released.

While drunkenly stumbling through Norrath we paid homage to Brell and were entertained by Oldar Foambeard for this year's new quest. When Abelbrow the Bookie is defeated he should pay his debts for the wager placed on the barracks challenge. Tower of Frozen Shadow (Raid) During the VhalSera encounter“Icy Concussion” should no longer hit for quite as hard. During the VhalSera encounter the damage immunity should always be removed when he begins his last phase. QUESTS Public Quests It is no longer possible to assemble a Lovers'Gazebo in a PQ area. An issue where Goredeth Maulhammer's encounter on Storm Gorge could spawn after allowing the dwarven siege to die off has been fixed. The session maintenance may make the official forums unavailable during the downtime. The full patch notes are available after the hop. In celebration of EverQuest's 12th anniversary, members of the press had the opportunity to attend a roundtable interview with Sony Online Entertainment President John Smedley, Assistant Lead Designer Alan VanCouvering and Associate Producer Harvey Burgess. Editor-in-Chief Darryl Gangloff participated on behalf of ZAM, and it certainly turned out to be an interesting discussion. We talked about a wide variety of topics, ranging from the history of EverQuest to the game's community. The team also fielded a series of questions on the progression servers, and Smedley gave us some hints on what we can expect to see in EverQuest Next.
