Hotfix - January 25, 2011 [EverQuest II]

All U.S. servers will be brought down at 7am PST on January 25th for the weekly hotfix. Estimated downtime is one hour. The Splitpaw and Runnyeye servers will come down on January 26th at 5am London Time for an estimated two hour update. Here are this week's patch notes : GENERAL The Fortune League AA reward scroll is now heirloom and will not be activated until examined from inventory.

Upcoming Housing Improvements Announced [EverQuest II]

Earlier this evening, Dave"Smokejumper"Georgeson announced a couple of upcoming features that will enhance player housing even more. Players will be allowed to own more than a single home--there will be no maximum limit to the number of homes allowed. The EQII team is also planning on adding many more prestige homes to the game which will give decorators more variety to work with. It was also announced that the prestige homes will come with portals that will allow you to travel from one home to that particular prestige house. At this time no further information is available regarding the prestige portals. These housing changes are intended to be introduced in the next month or two. Dave Georgeson clarified that the enhancements are not linked in any way to the launch of the upcoming expansion. SOE Unveils EQII Mobile [EverQuest II]

SOE recently announced a new feature, EQII Mobile , which is a cross platform phone application to keep you connected to certain in-game features. The application is free to download on the iPhone, Android and Blackberry markets. Its features include: In-Game Chat and Mail Character Profile Access Guild Tools In-Game Mail Access Norrath Map Search for"EverQuest2 Mobile"in the application marketplace on your smartphone or visit the iTunes store to download the app.

Destiny of Velious Live Webcasts Scheduled! [EverQuest II]

Today SOE announced a series of live webcasts about Destiny of Velious , the EverQuest II expansion due out late February. You can join the EQII Development Team as they discuss aspects of DoV on Facebook or the Stickam site. All four webcasts are scheduled at 4pm Pacific time Fridays. Friday, January 28 at 4:00 pm PST: Join Dave"Smokejumper"Georgeson and Salim"Silius"Grant as they talk about Destiny of Velious zones, raids and more. They will be answering some questions from players as well, so submit your questions via the links above. Due to the EQII Russian server merge (The Nexus and Barren Sky) on January 25, 2011, chat services will be unavailable for Valor (DE), Storms (FR), Splitpaw (UK) and Harla Dar (RU) for at least 12 hours. Chat is expected to be affected from 3:30 PM PDT on January 25 until 4:30 AM PDT on January 26 (26/01/11 00:30– 26/01/11 13:30 C.E.T ~ 01/25/11 11:30 PM– 01/26/11 12:30 PM London time). source: Official Forums

Today the various packages for EverQuest II's Destiny of Velious expansion were announced. In addition to the retail box SOE is offering two digital editions. The Digitial Collector's Edition is available via the Marketplace for $59.99 until February 21, 2011. On February 22 the price will increase to $89.99. According to the official forums, the U.S. servers will come down on January 19, 2011, at 7am PDT for a hotfix. The expected downtime is one hour. This is a notification that UK worlds will be updated at 5:00 AM London Time on January 20, with a two hour estimated downtime. Here are the patch notes: QUESTS Freebloods can now speak with Revliss Dru'shyv in Fens of Nathsar to be offered the quest“Scout Free Swamp”. Freebloods that have completed the quest“Rug Deliveries” can now speak with Zikana Sly'ssar in Kunzar Jungle to be offered the quest“Elementals Amongst Us”. Freebloods can now speak with Felidael in Stonebrunt Highlands to be offered the quest“Light the Path for the Pride”.
