Dragonbrood Expansion Delayed Until Oct. 14 [Legends of Norrath]

UPDATE: Sony Online Entertainment just announced that the Dragonbrood set has been pushed back until Oct. 14 . The"Haunted Mansion"scenario will also be released that day. Today is a big day for EverQuest fans. It marks the launch of House of Thule , the 17th EQ expansion, and the release of the Arcanum Revealed update in EverQuest II. As if that wasn't enough, the newest Legends of Norrath set also goes live today! Dragonbrood - The Anarchs is the 11th release for the online trading card game and features more than 200 new cards to add to your collection. The loot cards from the set include wolf mounts in EQII, items to decorate your new houses in EQ, and more. Emergency Downtime for October 12th [EverQuest II]

Today's launch of Game Update 58 brought about unexpected instability issues for some players. The servers will be brought down soon for an estimated downtime of one hour. Amnerys posted this announcement on the SOE forums: From Rothgar: We've fixed the client crash related to the missing mount and currency tabs. We also have a server-side bug fix that will fix a zone crash issue. We will be announcing a short down-time later today to get these major issues fixed. ... We're still processing things over here, so my new notification is that we expect the downtime to take about an hour. Broadcasts will be made in-game before the servers come down. We hope to have the servers back online around an hour after they are taken offline. GENERAL Fixed a bug causing the client to crash when using a third-party UI that hasn’t implemented the mount or currency windows. Fixed a server side crash bug.

Today's emergency downtime to fix some crashing issues was postponed to Wednesday morning. The US servers will come down on October 5, 2010, at 5:00 am PDT for a hotfix. The expected downtime is 1 hour. Here are the patch notes: GENERAL Fixed a bug causing the client to crash when using a third-party UI that hasn’t implemented the mount or currency windows. Fixed a server side crash bug.

As part of GameBreaker TV's GDC Online coverage, host Gary Gannon had the opportunity to to talk with Nathan Pearce , the director of Skunkworks at Sony Online Entertainment, about numerous topics. Pearce acts as an internal consultant that keeps information flowing between the SOE studios. They talked about all sorts of SOE games, including DC Universe Online, The Agency, Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures, and EverQuest Next. Yes, that's right. EverQuest Next . EverQuest Next While Pearce couldn't give any concrete details surrounding EverQuest Next, he did talk about a meeting he had with the game's lead designer. A hotfix has been scheduled for all US servers at 7am PDT on October 14. Estimated downtime is one hour. The hotfix will address several issues that cropped up with the latest game update. Read below for the full patch notes. USER INTERFACE Fixed tooltips on the welcome window and marketplace window for item icons. You can now set Auto-Roll options under Group Options (/groupoptions or Alt-O Group Options) This will allow you to Auto Greed, Auto Lotto, or Auto Decline loot without having to press the button each time. (Auto Need is not available) STREAMING CLIENT Fixed an issue where the client would incorrectly give a free disk space warning. MOUNTS Mounts in the mount window will no longer show up for sale on a merchant. Fixed a bug with the Ykeshan Bear not using the correct appearance when equipped in your mount appearance slot. Nights of the Dead Returns to Norrath [EverQuest II]

Ghouls and goblins can be seen creeping around the city streets in Norrath as Nights of the Dead returns once again. Put on your favorite costume or illusion and join in the festivities with your fellow players! Familiar faces from years past have returned offering their quests, games and wares. Repeatable quests from prior years now have a new reward choice, and this year's new devotee quest will challenge even the most devout Nights of the Dead fan. Crafters will be pleased to hear that there the new Celebrations of the Dead III scroll offers 20 additional recipes that are sure to make your home scream in delight. Also new this year is a candy exchange Gigglegibber and two Trick-or-Treat grand prize masks. The Headless Horseman epic encounter makes a return and now is more powerful as a level 98. Sony Online Entertainment is hosting six sealed deck tournaments this weekend to celebrate the launch of Dragonbrood - The Anarchs . The tournaments will be held at the following times: Friday, Oct. 15, at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. PDT Saturday, Oct. 16, at 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. PDT Sunday, Oct. 17, at 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. PDT Also, the Haunted Mansion scenario will be offere d in Legends of Norrath through Nov. 9. The first time you win the scenario, you'll win the Bloodsucker promo card and either the Unwritten Glyph loot card for EverQuest or the Superior Draught of the Brilliant loot card for EverQuest II. Seven Year Veteran Reward Announced [EverQuest II]

Late this afternoon SOE announced the new seven year Veteran Reward: the Mistmoore Crags Estate . The estate is a tax-free (meaning no cost and no unkeep) home with five rooms and a balcony view of the Loping Plains. Seven year vets who wish to use this home can find it in their claim window on October 12th after the release of Game Update 58. The portal to the home will be found next to the Skyblade Skiff in South Freeport and South Qeynos . Visit EverQuest II's official site to read more about the Mistmoore Crag Estate.
