Hotfix - March 8, 2011 [EverQuest II]

All U.S. servers will come down for a hotfix at 7am PST on Tuesday, March 8, 2011. The expected downtime is one hour. The full patch notes are available after the hop. USER INTERFACE Fixed a bug and optimized the AA Respec window. Third-party UI's that have customized this window will need to be updated. Fixed an issue with NPC casting bars sometimes getting cleared before the spell completed. Fixed an alignment problem with some NPC names in the Target and Implied target window. ZONE PROGRESSION / POPULATION Exploring the flight pads in Great Divide and Eastern Wastes should now always give you access to that destination. Updated locations include Scar Bridge, Ry’Gorr Keep, Caverns of Living Stone, and the entrance to Kael Drakkel. In Destiny of Velious players can earn gryphon mounts that will take them high above Norrath, giving them a new perspective of the lands. Their journey begins in a village that is nestled high in the mountains of the Great Divide. The Goahmari who dwell there are a peaceful tribe that cares for the local gryphons. They are willing to impart their knowledge of gryphon care and training to those who prove their reverence for life. Level 85+ adventurers and tradeskillers can learn the arts of gryphon training from the Goahmari. All U.S. servers came down at 7am PST for an estimated one hour hotfix. UK servers will come down at 5am London Time on 2/25 for an estimated two hours. This update should address several bugs and tweaks for the recent expansion. UPDATE : The downtime estimate for U.S. servers has been changed to 3 hours. Continue reading for the full patch notes. GENERAL Made some optimizations to help with lag at server startup. Advanced shader options Depth of Field, SSAO and Sunshafts should be fixed. COMMUNITY CALENDAR Fixed a display issue with calendar events during Daylight Savings Time. USER INTERFACE Spell effect icons in the target window will now sort beneficial spells at the top. ZONE PROGRESSION Experience values for all Velious zones have been increased slightly based on their intended challenge. Today's 12 Days of Velious promtion is free server transfers! Be sure to read the fine print before you start moving characters. One day only! Get a free character transfer token from the in-game Marketplace and choose your own server. Up to five moves allowed per account. UPDATE: Transfers are only valid on this day. All moves must be made during this day's promotion. The item is NO RENT and will disappear after the day's promotion is over. Tiffany"Amnerys"Spence, EQII Community Manager, posted additional clarifications on the official forums: Tokens will disappear after a camp. They can be re-purchased as long as they are listed in the Marketplace (which should be about 10am PST 24th to 10am 25th PST). During this period we’re increasing the number of transfers allowed per account to 5 (normally it is 2). At the end of this period it will drop back to 2 allowed per day. UK worlds will be updated at 5:00 AM London Time on February 25, 2011, with an estimated downtime will be 2 hours. The remaining promotions in the Twelve Days of Velious were announced today: February 26: Double XP Day! Adventure, tradeskill, and AA XP gain are doubled. Saturday only! February 27: Loot Bonanza Day! Today only, all named monsters will drop loot at 100% probability. Rare mobs will have doubled loot drop chances. February 28: Expansion Upgrade Day! If you already own the Standard Edition, upgrade to the Destiny of Velious Collector’s Edition for $25 on this day only. March 1: Gnomish Aerodome Races ! Players can queue up to take a gnomish aircraft through a torturous test-pilot course. Aerial race tracks are erected near the entrance to Butcherblock (the most hazardous course), Tenebrous Tangle (the longest course) and Lavastorm (the course that requires the most finesse). Emergency Maintenance - February 26, 2011 [EverQuest II]

On Saturday, February 26, the Everfrost, Guk and Unrest servers will come down around 6:15pm PST for an emergency maintenance. The estimated downtime is one hour. We assume that it will address the daily crashes that Everfrost has been experiencing. UPDATE : Greg"Rothgar"Spence announced that the Guk and Unrest servers will also be affected by the Everfrost maintenance as well. Bonus Experience will be extended to end at 3pm PST on 2/27 for these three servers. Unfortunately we are experiencing a network issue that will not be resolved until the servers are brought down for maintenance. We tried to make it until tomorrow morning but the problems continue to occur so we are going to perform the maintenance in 30 minutes. ETA for the maintenance is 1 to 1.5 hours. The double XP for today has been extended until 3pm PST Sunday for Guk, Unrest and Everfrost. Sunday's hot zone promotion will still begin at 10am. We apologize for this short notice.
