Final"Twelve Days of Velious"Promos Revealed [EverQuest II]

The remaining promotions in the Twelve Days of Velious were announced today: February 26: Double XP Day! Adventure, tradeskill, and AA XP gain are doubled. Saturday only! February 27: Loot Bonanza Day! Today only, all named monsters will drop loot at 100% probability. Rare mobs will have doubled loot drop chances. February 28: Expansion Upgrade Day! If you already own the Standard Edition, upgrade to the Destiny of Velious Collector’s Edition for $25 on this day only. March 1: Gnomish Aerodome Races ! Players can queue up to take a gnomish aircraft through a torturous test-pilot course. Aerial race tracks are erected near the entrance to Butcherblock (the most hazardous course), Tenebrous Tangle (the longest course) and Lavastorm (the course that requires the most finesse). Emergency Maintenance - February 26, 2011 [EverQuest II]

On Saturday, February 26, the Everfrost, Guk and Unrest servers will come down around 6:15pm PST for an emergency maintenance. The estimated downtime is one hour. We assume that it will address the daily crashes that Everfrost has been experiencing. UPDATE : Greg"Rothgar"Spence announced that the Guk and Unrest servers will also be affected by the Everfrost maintenance as well. Bonus Experience will be extended to end at 3pm PST on 2/27 for these three servers. Unfortunately we are experiencing a network issue that will not be resolved until the servers are brought down for maintenance. We tried to make it until tomorrow morning but the problems continue to occur so we are going to perform the maintenance in 30 minutes. ETA for the maintenance is 1 to 1.5 hours. The double XP for today has been extended until 3pm PST Sunday for Guk, Unrest and Everfrost. Sunday's hot zone promotion will still begin at 10am. We apologize for this short notice.

The US servers will come down on March 1, 2011, at 7am PDT for a hotfix. The expected downtime is 1 hour. See the full update notes below the jump! GENERAL In Extreme Performance settings the paperdoll would render its black silhouette to the screen sometimes. This is now fixed. The Destiny of Velious expansion will not show by default at the character select marketplace if your account already has the Destiny of Velious expansion. ZONE PROGRESSION / POPULATION Kael Drakkel Legatus Skarl’s adds should now have considerably less health. Thurgadin Thurgadin Dock fires will no longer kill on contact, but singe on contact with severe burns to follow… Momo’s merchant list has been adjusted so he will no longer display dual entries of his wares. Tomorrow is the beginning of March, bringing us the Neriak City Festival ! The festival should start on March 1st at 12:01am PST and run until March 7th at 11:59pm PST. You can find the Far Seas Caravan in Darklight Wood outside of Neriak. This month you can pick up one new Neriak themed house item: the Ornate Neriak Door . Visit Chris Weathers and Sanya Farshore to see all the local specialities , Forum Challenge Paintings and other festival goods.

Dave"Smokejumper"Georgeson, EQII Senior Producer, posted that there will be a double experience weekend this weekend. In anticipation for the coming of"Destiny of Velious"on Tuesday, we're running a Double XP weekend from 10am Pacific on Friday, 2/18 until 10am Pacific on Tuesday, 2/22. This affects adventure, tradeskill, and AA experience. If you're planning on playing the Destiny of Velious expansion you'll want to be level 85 or 86! UPDATE: There seems to have been some confusion on the end date of this bonus experience weekend, as the expansion releases the same day it ends. Amnerys corrected the error on the forums: Servers are currently expected to come down around 3am on the 22nd. Bonus XP will run until they are taken down.
